A Bengaluru resident claimed on Reddit that a cab driver used a fake app called "TownRide" to demand high fares. The man booked the cab from Bengaluru airport to Jakkur for ₹598, but at the end of the ride, the driver's phone showed a total of ₹758. The app mimicked Rapido’s interface but let users manually change fares, he said.
