The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has granted environmental clearance to India's largest greenfield steel plant in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli. ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel’s (AM/NS) 8.2 million tonnes/annum (MTPA) steel plant will be developed with an investment of ₹1.5 lakh crore. It is expected to generate lakhs of jobs and significantly boost local manufacturing.
