UK-based Pulsar Fusion achieved world's first plasma ignition inside a nuclear fusion rocket engine, with its Sunbird exhaust test system. It will dock to a spacecraft in low-Earth orbit and then boost it to its destination. It'll eventually be able to transport a spacecraft with cargo up to 2,000 kg to Mars orbit within six months, the company said.
