The number of angel investments in Indian startups fell 44% to 834 deals in 2025, from 1,495 deals in 2024, according to market intelligence platform Tracxn. Total capital invested also declined, however, at a slower pace. Regulatory changes like tighter eligibility norms, higher financial thresholds for investors, and expanded compliance for angel funds slowed the pace, Moneycontrol reported.
