The Finance Ministry instructed all ministries and departments to enforce the 'one officer, one car' rule for bureaucrats. The ministry's memo said any officer utilising a vehicle will not be granted a second one for any additional posts they hold in another ministry, department, attached/subordinate office, autonomous body or PSU. "Unutilised vehicles should be kept in safe custody," it added.
