Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) plans to compile an Index of Service Production (ISP) for the economy’s formal sector with 2024-25 as the base year. GST data will be a crucial input in the indicator, the MoSPI said. The index will cover sub-sectors like wholesale, transportation, retail trade, publishing, telecom, consultancy, real estate, arts and sports, among others.
