The Press Information Bureau (PIB) said the GST rate cuts in automobiles aim to boost indigenous manufacturing under Make in India, PLI, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. By lowering taxes on cars, bikes, tractors, and buses, the reforms will stimulate domestic demand, strengthen MSMEs, encourage innovation, and modernise infrastructure, creating a globally competitive and self-reliant auto industry.
