India overtaking Japan in GDP isn't good, it has a fledgling middle class: Ex-WEF chief

Former World Economic Forum (WEF) MD Claude Smadja said India overtaking Japan in terms of GDP to become world's fourth-largest economy isn't good as it's far below Japan in terms of per capita GDP. "It's not in any way any reason for complacency...It's a reason for accelerating so development...become more inclusive," he said. "India has a fledgling middle-class," he added.
