India to cut import duty on cars to 40% from 110% in trade deal with EU: Report

India plans to slash tariffs on cars imported from the European Union as part of a free trade agreement with the EU, Reuters reported, citing sources. Under the proposed deal, tariffs on cars imported from the 27-nation EU bloc will be cut to 40% from as high as 110%. Reportedly, duties could eventually be lowered to as little as 10%.
