iRobot, the company behind the iconic Roomba vacuum, filed for bankruptcy after years of mounting pressure from cheaper Chinese rivals and the collapse of a planned Amazon acquisition. The firm will be acquired by its Chinese contract manufacturer, Shenzhen Picea Robotics, and says operations and existing devices will continue uninterrupted.
