LIC has received ₹6,146.71 crore income tax demand and ₹953.25 crore interest for FY2021-22, according to a regulatory disclosure dated March 25. According to the disclosure, the tax demand stemmed from various additions and disallowances that were identified by the tax authority. The corporation said the order is appealable before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals).
