Meta has begun its process of firing 8,000 employees, or about one in every 10 employees, as part of its AI-focused restructuring, multiple reports said. The first employees to be hit were in Singapore, who received layoff emails at 4:00 am local time (1:30 am IST). Meta will reportedly lay off all affected employees in a single day in shifts.
