MPL fires 60% of staff in India after real-money gaming ban

Mobile Premier League (MPL) announced its decision to lay off about 60% of its workforce in India as part of a major downsizing after the government banned real-money and gambling games. "This change would mean that we'd no longer be making any revenue from India in near future," said CEO Sai Srinivas, adding, "India accounted for 50% of M-League's revenues."
