US authorities have cleared Elon Musk's planned acquisition of Mesh Optical Technologies, a startup building advanced optical systems for AI data centres and aerospace infrastructure. Mesh was founded last year by three former SpaceX engineers. Before launching the startup, its co-founders developed the optical communication links that keep thousands of SpaceX's Starlink satellites interconnected.
