Bernd Lange, chair of the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade, said any fresh US tariffs on European Union goods beyond last year's agreed rates would be "unacceptable." His remarks came after the US proposed additional duties of 12.5% on imports from 60 economies, including the EU. Washington accused the EU of not curbing forced-labour goods trade.
