Starting May 1, Indian Railways will prohibit passengers with waiting list tickets from traveling in sleeper or AC coaches. Only general class travel will be allowed for such tickets. The move aims to improve travel comfort for confirmed passengers and reduce overcrowding, with TTEs now authorized to fine or shift waiting list passengers occupying reserved seats.
