OpenAI is in early talks to buy power from fusion startup Helion, backed by Sam Altman, Axios reported. The deal could guarantee OpenAI 12.5% of Helion's output, starting with five gigawatts by 2030 and 50 gigawatts by 2035, the report added. In 2023, Microsoft signed a similar deal with Helion to start buying fusion power starting from 2028.
