India produces nearly 15 lakh engineers annually, yet manufacturers still struggle to find job-ready workers. Sudhir Gera said outdated curricula, weak industry exposure and limited practical training leave graduates unprepared for factories and infrastructure projects. He proposed linking colleges with local industries so students learn from practising engineers before entering the workforce.
