Penguin Random House filed a lawsuit against OpenAI's Ireland-based subsidiary, alleging copyright violations of a popular German book series. OpenAI-owned chatbot ChatGPT generated "virtually indistinguishable" text and images from children's book 'Coconut the Little Dragon', the lawsuit stated. The publisher said the results were "clear evidence" that ChatGPT "memorised" copyrighted material.
