Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has flagged off the first direct Pune-Sainagar Shirdi Express while announcing a series of rail infrastructure projects that could double Pune's railway capacity within three years. The upgrades include station modernization, new platforms, digital signalling systems, and a mega coaching terminal, enabling the operation of nearly 20 additional trains.
