The RBI has barred banks from offering non-deliverable derivative contracts involving the rupee to resident or non-resident clients. The central bank also prohibited the rebooking of any foreign exchange derivative contract involving the rupee once it has been cancelled. The measures come amid pressure on the rupee, which recently breached the 95 mark against the US dollar.
