Smaller UPI apps urged the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to rethink the UPI Meta launch, warning it could increase PhonePe and Google Pay's market dominance, Moneycontrol reported. UPI Meta will allow customers to save a preferred UPI ID on a merchant website. Smaller platforms fear that users will primarily save IDs linked to the two largest UPI apps.
