Colossal Biosciences announced that it has successfully hatched 26 healthy chicks using a fully artificial egg system. The 3D-printed artificial egg is a bioengineered shell made with a silicone-based membrane designed to breathe like a real egg. The startup said this is a step towards reviving South Island giant moa, a 12-foot-tall bird that went extinct around 600 years ago.
