Madhya Pradesh Police launched a probe after a government rice consignment meant for AVJ Agrico ethanol plant in Chhindwara was allegedly diverted to a private rice mill. It's alleged that plant representative Rahul Pratap intended to sell the subsidised rice at a higher price and use cheaper rice for ethanol production. Officials seized 490 bags containing 242.55 quintals of rice.
