Two Tata Steel subsidiaries were hit with a €1.4-billion (nearly ₹15,000 crore) damages claim by Dutch NGO SFW, claiming the companies' operations caused hazardous emissions and harmed locals' health. SFW, representing locals in Velsen-Noord, also claimed that prices of homes in the area "demonstrably lag" due to the emissions. Following the news, Tata Steel shares fell up to 1.26% intraday.
