Uber said that it is cutting 23% of jobs in its people division, including human resources and recruitment teams, as part of an effort to streamline operations under new president Jill Hazelbaker. The layoffs come amidst the company hiring for over 800 roles, including for commercialising robotaxis. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi described the restructuring as "necessary" in an internal memo.
