US has committed to invest $1.3 billion (about ₹11,777 crore) in a copper and gold mining project in Pakistan's crisis-hit Balochistan province. The Reko Diq project is located near Pakistan-Iran border and is expected to start production by 2028-end. It's expected to produce two lakh metric tons of copper a year in its first phase, which will double after expansion.
