US Treasury Department sanctioned Raipur-based businessman Alok Choudhari and his company SBL Energy, along with six other entities, in connection with the Sudan Civil War. It claimed that SBL supplied 200+ shipments of explosives, which were then used in bombs deployed by the Sudanese military. It said the entities "prolonged a conflict that has created the world's worst humanitarian crisis".
