The story began in 1928, when a Nalli Chinnasami Chetty opened a store in Chennai, in the popular area of Thyagaraja Nagar. His vision was to make Nalli the ultimate saree destination, a hallmark of purity. When other stores closed down during the World War II, it was this landmark store which remained open to cater to customers needs. Such unmatched focus on customer centricity is what has made this an iconic name in silk sarees.
Over the years, Nalli has opened its stores in major cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and many more. Under the guidance and direction of Ramnath Nalli, Nalli Silk Sarees has made geographical expansions by opening retail outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. He also started an exquisite shopping outlet of about 50,000 Sqft. in the heart of Chennai, a stone’s throw away from the original family run shop. Under the guidance of Ramnath Nalli, Nalli Silk Sarees is professionally managed, having retail outlets in various parts of India and offices in USA and Singapore.
Joining the family business in 2012, Niranth Nalli decided to take the business into hitherto unexplored territories, opening the very first Nalli Jewellers outlet in Chennai. The success of the first venture enables Niranth to expand and open yet another outlet very quickly. Coming on-board the family business in 2005, Lavanya Nalli has worked with the family to professionalize the set-up, ventured into successful product diversification, and conceptualized and explored new retail-formats with the launch of the successful Nalli Next sub-brand. After a 5 year stint in the US, where she graduated from
Harvard Business School and worked at McKinsey, she returned to Nalli and is heading the omni-channel platform. We are growing exponentially and are looking out for bright, driven individuals who can grow together with us.
