OpenAI said it's buying AI device startup io, co-founded by Jony Ive who designed Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBook Air, for $6.5 billion (over ₹55,600 crore). With the ChatGPT-maker's largest-ever acquisition, OpenAI intends to produce a family of AI devices, CEO Sam Altman said. Ive and his team of about 55 engineers, designers and researchers will now join OpenAI.
