Indian startups raised $54.7 million between April 28 and May 3 across 15 deals, which is down by 46% from the $100.3 million raised by 18 startups last week, a report stated. This marked the lowest investment-week in Indian startups after the first week of January 2025. Fintech emerged as the most funded sector this week by raising $15.3 million.

State Bank of India (SBI) recorded a 10% year-on-year fall in the net profit for the fourth quarter of FY25. The net profit stood at ₹18,643 crore during the quarter as against ₹20,698 crore from the year-ago period. However, for the entire fiscal, the bank reported 16% increase in net profit on a standalone basis at ₹70,901 crore.

The 16th Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya, said that a bilateral trade deal with the US would place India "incredibly favourably" in the global trading equation. He further said that US trade restrictions on countries like China, Vietnam and Cambodia could benefit India. Currently, India is negotiating a bilateral trade agreement with the US, which may conclude by 2025 end.
