GST reforms may lead to small cars getting cheaper as they move to 18% slab, as per reports. According to ICRA Senior VP Jitin Makkar, US' 50% tariffs are likely to "dampen business sentiment" for luxury car sales. "A potential GST rate cut on smaller cars could stimulate demand...while the luxury segment may face a more subdued environment," he added.

US President Donald Trump's administration is "treating India like they're schoolchildren who need to be told what to do", said US journalist and commentator Rick Sanchez, while talking about the 50% tariffs.
